High in the mountains with a spectacular view above Grindstone Lake is the one of a kind Grindstone Lake Lodge. This multi-story home with eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms will easily accommodate up to 20 guests.

Once you’ve arrived and walked through the front entrance, you’ll marvel at the beauty of this brand new vacation home. The views from the windows and decks are beyond compare and words do not suffice. There is absolutely nothing else like Grindstone Lake Lodge in all of Ruidoso and we dare say all of southern New Mexico.

There are so many things to do in the area such as hiking, skiing, shopping and enjoying the cool mountain air that you may feel the desire to stay out late and enjoy but when the time comes to return home and relax you will be rewarded with all the luxuries fit for royalty. The many bedrooms offer comfort in abundance as well as the adjoining bath areas. Entertainment is available throughout with Internet and TV's. The game room will offer hours of enjoyment with the various gaming tables. Your group will have loads of fun in this room and all the challenges it will offer.

You’ll find everything you could possibly need in your gorgeous kitchen including a huge refrigerator, dual wall ovens, gas cook top, and plenty of prep space. The large kitchen is open to the main living area and has plenty of room for multiple helpers to work side by side.

Come for that once in a lifetime vacation but make sure you bring enough cameras for all those selfie opportunities, otherwise no one will ever believe you when you try to describe where you stayed at the one and only, Grindstone Lake Lodge.

Ruidoso is an alpine mountain community. Expect twisty roads with steep grades. The weather is unpredictable and changes quickly. Elevation can vary between 6000’ to almost 12,000’. Most homes are multi-level with stairs on inclined lots. Expect wildlife to hinder traffic flow. Do not be surprised if the power goes out or when you lose internet or cell phone connection. This is the mountains, and it happens. We encourage guests be prepared with access to chains or 4-wheel drive in winter months for all our properties. This is not the big city. Life is easier and slower paced and more wonderful. This is why we come and why we stay. Relax and enjoy your time in paradise.

  The location was great. You have easy access to the lake, town, and hiking trails. There are a few things to consider when renting this property. I would not recommend this property if you need fast, reliable internet during your stay. The internet is very slow. if you plan to play pool or shuffleboard, those games need to be in better condition. This is an excellent property for couples or groups that need a private room but also want to gather as a group. I would rent again if they fixed the internet and updated the pool table and shuffleboard.

  Beautiful view, spacious home, great communication from property manager. Unfortuntaly, the property was not well cleaned and re-stocked before we arrived. We also had problems with wifi and the fireplace. The property manager was excellent in following up and brought us toliet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. The fireplace never worked properly while we were there. Could tell the house had seen quite a few guests over time.

  We had a wonderful family vacation at Grindstone Lake Lodge. We had 10 adults 3 teenagers and 2 little ones. There was plenty of room for all of us. The amenities were more than described on VRBO. The lake view was fabulous. We filled the hummingbird feeders and the hummingbirds gave us many hours of entertainment. Prior to our trip we sent an email to ask questions and never got a response. We called several days later and got some of our questions answered. The property was in good condition, we had an issue with an electrical breaker tripping the last night of our stay. No one responded to a voicemail or text sent to the emergency number. It was in the room with the baby and we needed the baby monitor. Guess they don't monitor, or didn't consider this an emergency. A response back stating we wouldn't be hearing back would have been nice. We received a response on VRBO the next morning as we were leaving town that they would be out that day. The breaker box was not accessible on the lower level rooms. The area is beautiful and there are a lot of things to do very close. We enjoyed disk golf, horseback riding, paddleboarding, canoeing, ziplining, and white sands monument. This is a great space for multi-generation families.

  Hearing the ravens caw and seeing the deer graze by made it a great escape from the hustle of the city we came from.

  We had a family reunion there last year and loved the place so we decided to book again this year. We had been at the house about an hour when we saw a mouse. We went sure so we looked for it and yep found it and killed it. We went to store and bought some mouse traps just in case. We all had taken food and didn’t want to take a chance. I called the number given to me for any questions or concerns but no answer. To our surprise next morning we caught 2 other mice. Called number again no response sent email no response. Until Sunday after check I received an email that she was sorry and would have her supervisor contact me, I am still waiting for call back from supervisor or someone. I was not expecting a compensation at all just some kind of attention. Needless to say we will not be going back to this location for our annual family reunion.

  What a great place to just relax and soak in the ambiance of this beautiful town. This home is huge and accommodating to everyone’s needs. Plenty of room with a luxury kitchen to prepare our meals. Albertsons is just a few minutes away from this location. Casino is literally 5 minutes away. We came during a snow storm so that was interesting. Snow plow drivers made the steep drive to the house very doable. Even for our front wheel drive vehicles. This is my second stay and it will not be my last.

  This was one of the best vacation experiences my siblings and I have had to date. We traveled from four states to attend. The house was exactly as described. The view was incredible, the location great, the layout fantastic as we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was immaculate. All the dishes clean and plenty of clean dish towels. We have stayed at places where we felt like we had to wash the dishes before we could use them. That was definitely not the case here. There was even a supply of tea infusers which we put to good use! Customer service was great. We had an issue logging on to the WiFi, but it was quickly rectified by a very knowledgeable technician. I would highly recommend this property to all my friends and relatives. We stayed busy at the property visiting, cooking, drinking wine and tea, and playing games but wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy some of the local activities and attractions.

  The home is very beautiful. We had a church retreat and the house lend itself in order for us to meditate on the word of God. The scenery from the balconies also added to the spirituality.   Don’t get me wrong, the house is nice and comfortable. The beds were firm, the furniture was nice and the kitchen well equipped. What we didn’t like is none of the TVs worked. Particularly unfortunate bc we had a football game rivalry we wanted to watch. Internet didn’t work. Outlets in a bedroom and some in kitchen didn’t work. Manager was nice but we spent hours with maintenance guy who couldn’t fix our problems. Disappointing in some respects

  What an amazing property!! Our family came together for a mountain getaway staying at the Grindstone Lodge. There was a total of 11 adults and 4 children coming from Pampa, Texas, Canyon, Texas and Lubbock, Texas. The property was gorgeous with 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms!! We had a lake view from the deck, of Grindstone Lake, that was so beautiful! The leasing agent was great also!! Our only complaint was that our stay was too short!! We would have liked to hear about the property owners like where they are from and a little about the home, only because we have seen that in other properties that we have stayed in.   When our extended family gathers, each couple is in charge of one meal, and this is an excellent setup for cooking for a family like ours - 24 guests! There's even an extra little kitchen sink in the island, very helpful!
  The pool table was used continually.
  We set up a coffee bar, moved all the coffee mugs, all the fixins & the coffee pots to the bar area. Perfect place to provide our family's constant need for a good cup of coffee!
  The deck overlooking the lake has great furniture for lots of folks to appreciate the weather and the view. Great sunrises!
  We did puzzles, played games, and just hung around in the living room.
  The separate dining room without carpet was appreciated! That's where the kids ate every meal.
  Lots of walks down to the lake.
  There's a great disc golf course really close by, and several of our group played it - saying it is an above average course.
  The grill on the deck is magnificent.
  8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms was quite nice.
  Designate a bathroom for guests - they'll have to go through someone's bedroom. No guest bath, so if this is determined ahead of time is saves embarrassment.
  Grandpa is 88 and the youngest baby was 2 months old. Perfect situation for large family and varying ages gathering!

  This house is amazing! It has 8 bedrooms, and each has its own bathroom. Perfect for my large extended family. Words can't describe the beauty from the back deck. Bald eagles drifted over the lake. My dad even watched one dive into the water and catch a fish one morning! Swarms of humming birds at the feeders. A true slice of heaven!
