Relaxation Station

Secluded in the beautiful and historic Upper Canyon area with great mountain charm, Relaxation Station is the perfect home base during your Ruidoso vacation. Featuring three-bedrooms and a large loft area. One bedroom has a King while the second has a Queen. The third guest bedroom accommodates two twin beds and the loft room has enough space for two twin and two double beds. Additional sleeping is provided by a futon bed.This home also features four full bathrooms. Sleeping is spacious and can accommodate fourteen guests. You and your guests will love utilizing both the upper front and lower back decks, free WiFi, washer and dryer, window a/c units upstairs ONLY, as well as enjoying the privacy at Relaxation Station.

This beautiful and sweet cabin offers everything you and guests will need during your mountain vacation. When you enter this home, you will notice the main living area and beautiful log burning fireplace, providing an abundance natural charm. You will love the open concept with the main living area and kitchen easily flowing into each other. In the living room, a large couch is available to provide the perfect spot for you and your guests to kick back and relax after a day full of adventures!

The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, stove top with oven as well as cooking and eating utensils to cook up some delicious meals during your stay at Relaxation Station. The open concept allows you to enjoy your guests while cooking and taking care of the dishes. A large bar top is located in the kitchen to provide additional counter space and seating.

If you want to enjoy the fresh mountain air, take a step out on the front or back deck. On a spacious over-sized lot you will experience full privacy and will love starting your day out here with a warm cup of coffee. There is a table and chairs located on the patio for your enjoyment. Fire up the gas grill and make your dinner outdoors! Enjoy the privacy while enjoying the whisper of the pines and the gurgling song of the river. Relaxation Station is your mountain oasis.

Ruidoso is an alpine mountain community. Expect twisty roads with steep grades. The weather is unpredictable and changes quickly. Elevation can vary between 6000’ to almost 12,000’. Most homes are multi-level with stairs on inclined lots. Expect wildlife to hinder traffic flow. Do not be surprised if the power goes out or when you lose internet or cell phone connection. This is the mountains, and it happens. We encourage guests be prepared with access to chains or 4-wheel drive in winter months for all our properties. This is not the big city. Life is easier and slower paced and more wonderful. This is why we come and why we stay. Relax and enjoy your time in paradise.

  The place is nice, overall, but, the owner needs to make some updates. For example, the middle guest bedroom on the kitchen level needs a new sink asap, among other updates. More supplies would have been nice, like paper towels and tp. Many blinds were broken. The CATV could have had more than 3 working channels, lol. And I'm not sure why there are ancient Phillips HDTVs, with ancient app technology interfaces. There are much better TVs, like TCL, for less than $400. Just saying. On a positive note, the hot tub was very nice, and the WiFi was a lifesaver since there was only 1 bar of AT&T cell signal. We had to use WiFi calling to make calls. All in all, it was a nice place and in a good location. 5 minutes to Sudderth St, and 40 minutes to Ski Apache!!

  It was what we expected. But, neighbors left trash all over adjacent property. We spent some time picking up trash that had blown onto rental property because there are plenty of reminders to use dumpsters to avoid cleaning fees. There were dirty dishes in dish washer, not a big deal. Kids worked on living room tv for hours, never got it working, but it kept them busy! We ended up playing card games...even better.

  Disappointed in the accommodation. The name of the property is called “Relaxation Station”. Most furnishings were old. The drawer in master was falling apart. Both TV’s didn’t work. Fireplace didn’t work. Skip this one. Destiny Properties has much better choices to choose from. The office at Destiny Properties was very responsive and timely when we called about issues and our deposit refund. But the owners of Relaxation Station should update furnishings and buy a couple of Smart TV’s.

  We arrived on time to a dated, dirty house. There was trash under the beds, glass on the kitchen floor, broken furniture and window blinds. The mattresses were rock-hard. Not enough seating at the dining table for the 14 people the house is supposed to sleep. The hot tub was a nice factor and all of the (very dated) appliances worked. The dryer needed at least two cycles to completely dry your clothes.

  We found out, a week from leaving, that’s the rental property was NO WHERE near where it was listed on VRBO. It was 2 miles outside of town, with no ability to walk to shops or food. Once there, the blinds were all broken, the back door didn’t lock, AND the hot tub needed parts so it wasn’t working. We went to turn on the TV, and the sound didn’t work their either. (Thank goodness we had brought our own Roku stick because that was the only thing there was to do. All of this sounds terrible, but it got worse. As we all got ready for bed, the downstairs bathroom with the queen bed had been leaking for a while. (We didn’t notice when we got there as we were all wearing shoes and the leak didn’t show through the carpet in the bathroom.)We had closed the windows when the rains came, so the entire bedroom and bathroom smelled like cat urine. Completely disgusting, and unable to sleep with the smell, the couple staying in that room was resigned to sleep on the living room couches. When we woke to use the grill the next day, it was disgustingly dirty and took 2 hours to fix. The rental property managers did not come to help with ANY of the issues. In fact, they never answered any of our inquiries about getting help with any of it. (My husband worked in construction during his younger days. We aren’t novices to taking care of a home. We just didn’t anticipate having to do that every day while on vacation.)I have left 3 messages requesting a partial refund, and the property management group has not responded AT ALL to any of them. We stay at VRBO’s at least once a month. This experience may change all of that. It was, by far, the worst place we have ever stayed. (And despite my showing the company that their location ping for the rental is 2 miles from the rental, they STILL haven’t changed it. They STILL show the cabin a short block from town. They aren’t concerned at all about the lie about the lo

  We loved the home. It was clean and very roomy for all the ladies. We loved the location. Not too isolated but also not too close to the neighbors. Pretty private. The only slight complaint would be that there is no ac. Fans helped some but it was still pretty hot especially when we would cook. There was no dish washing liquid or detergent. The TV's did not work or the remotes didn't so we did not watch TV at all during our stay. But I do recommend the home. The area has beautiful scenery. We saw lots of deer and even some turkeys.

  The cabin is in a great location and plenty big enough for a bigger group. They had necessities there like coffee machine and fridge. Don’t expect a ton of dishwasher detergent (we found 3 which isn’t enough when you have lots of people and need to run the dishwasher more often) or clean sponges for dishes.
  The biggest disappointment were the mattresses. The bedroom with the queen bed downstairs was so bad I ended up with a bruise on my hip from a spring that was poking through. The showers had hair all over and the carpeted bathroom definitely had mold under it. As soon as we took a shower you can smell it. The hot tub worked and was fun but again, hair that wasn’t ours was all over the water. The outside is nice but there was so much trash everywhere that in order to keep my kids from playing with it we had to go collect it on our first morning instead of going on a hike.
  Overall it was ok but don’t expect a super clean place nor comfortable sleeping accommodations. We definitely paid too much for what we got.

  The place was nice but there were only 3 rolls of tp for 8 people. When I called to get more, they told me that toilet paper and garbage bags (there were only 2) were my responsibility and that it was in my contract. I read the contract again and there was nothing in there about tp or garbage bags. I called them back and told them and they acted surprised that that stipulation was not in there, but they did not offer to get some. So i had to drive to the store in 1.5 ft of snow to get some. When they expect you to keep the place clean it seems to me like they should supply these essential items. Also, neither tv worked properly and the gas grill ran out of propane after being lit for 20 minutes.

    We only stock with enough to get you started. Anything beyond that you are responsible for. We stock one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, 2 kitchen trash bags (which is normally enough for a weekend), 1 trash bag for all the little trashcans, coffee (stocked according to the kind of coffee maker), travel sized shampoo & conditioner in each bathroom that has a shower/bath tub, 1 bar of soap for each bathroom sink, 2 laundry pods, and 2 dishwasher pods. That information should have been provided to you when your check in instructions were provided. I apologize for that not happening. We have an after hours number as well as the office number on all the paperwork to report issues 24 hours a day. If a renter runs out of propane renters can exchange them and provide their receipt at check out for reimbursement. We hope you choose to stay with Destiny again in the future.

  The old was old and pretty banged up but it was clean inside. Many lights were not working including the lights outside in front so walking from the car at night was difficult . The hot tub was unlocked and very dirty when we arrived , but you did send folks to clean it on our last day. There was no address in the packet left in the drop box when we arrived late Sunday evening, so lucky there was someone working late inside the office and they answered the locked door. The cabin back patio was very dirty with leaves and small pieces of wood everywhere. But I think the pice of the cabin was reasonable.

  The employees at Destiny Real Estate were very friendly and accommodating and check-in/out was a breeze. The interior of the home was very clean and cozy feeling. There were ample bedding and towels to accommodate our large party and everyone had plenty of room to relax. The additional space heaters came in bery handy. The surrounding area is gorgeous and we had the pleasure of seeing all the splendid Christmas decor in the neighborhood.
  I did have a few issues, although I would gladly stay again. Firstly, the back patio had not been swept in some time. The pine needles and dirt made it difficult to enter/exit the hot tub without causing a mess. The master bedroom and master bath had some issues as well. The bed is very hard and uncomfortable. There seems to be a septic issue. The toilet flushes fine, but there was a strong smell of sewage in the bathroom and closet throughout our stay and at times it could be smelled outside. Also, there were not many pots or pans. When cooking for 16 guests, it can be quite difficult. Luckily we had brought roasters, but perhaps providing more cookware or at least reccomending guest bring additional cookware would be helpful.
  Overall, we had a great time. Despite the few issues, for the money, I would highly reccomend this home to anyone!
